However, people trust these places for the best hygiene but surprisingly health inspectors in Bulawayo did not see this in most food outlets in the city.
According to the Chronicle newspaper the Bulawayo City Council expressed concern over deteriorating standards of food outlets in the city. The latest City Council report states that this month the inspectorate will educate those who work in food outlets on cleanliness.
It is very important for the City Council to do regular check ups and inspections on these outlets in order to ensure hygienic standards. One popular food outlet, Express Inn, is reported to have been ordered to close because they were operating without an appropriate license.
Several others were also closed while some were given warnings to improve on their cleanliness.
At a time when typhoid and cholera are at their peak, it is disappointing to realie that some of these diseases are spread through these outlets that we trust so much.
