City Council should Upgrade Street Markets

Life  seems  to  become  easier  when  people  see  cheaper  food  stuffs  on  the  market. However  this  is  the complete  opposite  as  it  actually  makes  life  more  difficult  because  of  the  health dangers  posed  by  these  illegal  market. These  markets  are  common  everywhere  around  town  and  people  depend  on  them  as  they  cannot  afford  to  buy  from  supermarkets . Some  of  the  food  stuffs  include  vegetables  and  fruits. Unfortunately, in  supermarkets, these  are  the  most  expensive  yet  one  can  buy  them for  a  very  cheap  price  in  the  street  markets. Despite the  fact  that  street  vendors  do  not  have  licenses  from  the  City  Council, they  continue  with  their  business  because  of  the  demand  from  customers. Most  street  vendors   are  always  on  the  look out   for  police  and  when  they  are  caught, they  lose  all  their  fruits  and  vegetables. Since  these  street  vendors  have  got  a  lot  of  customers, it  would  be  wise  for   the  City  Council  to  try  to  upgrade  them  by  building   stands  for  them  to  sell  their  food  stuffs,give  them  licenses  to  operate  and  educate  them  on  cleanliness  and  hygiene. Without  these  street  markets, most  Zimbabweans  would  suffer  because  fruits  and  vegetables  in  supermarkets  are  very  expensive.
